Mumbai, Jan 9 : The Rupee remained firm for the third straight session on Thursday, as it surged by 50 paise to 71.19, a two-week-high following easing tension between Iran and America, dealers at the Forex Market said.
The local unit that advanced 26 paise to 71.43 in opening trade, spurted by 50 paise to finish strong at 71.19 as compared to its last close. The domestic unit recorded day high and low at 71.51 and 71.17 respectively. The Rupee spurted on weak Dollar against other world currencies along with rebounding equity market, they added. (UNI)
