Mumbai, Dec 2: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday jumped by 279 points to 41,072.94 in opening trade on fresh buying in Materials, Energy, Telecom and Technology stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 81 points to 12,137.05. The indices that pushed the market were Materials, Energy, Telecom and Technology stocks. The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 41,093.99 and 40,744.13 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded day intra day high and low at 12,137.15 and 12,031.45 points respectively.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 7.35 per cent to Rs 474.80, Reliance Industries by 2.61 per cent to Rs 1591.45, Hind Unilever by 0.93 per cent to Rs 2054.95, IndusInd Bank by 0.47 per cent to Rs 1576.65 and Asian Paints by 0.43 per cent to Rs 1711.35.
The losers were Reliance Industries by 3 pc to Rs 3951.25, Tech Mahindra by 2.77 per cent to Rs 740.40, Sun Pharma by 2.51 per cent to Rs 438.50 and TCS by 1.47 per cent to Rs 2022.60. (UNI)
