Mumbai, Nov 29: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday dropped by 288.34 points to 40,841.83 on profit booking by local operators at higher level ahead of quarterly GDP growth data release.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too fell 77.50 points to 12,073.65. The equity market was seen weak in opening trade. At the moment it was sliding by 288.34 points in early trade. The sectoral indices like Materials, Energy, FMCG, Finance, Auto and Bankex eased in early trade.
The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 41,143.22 and 40,828.11 points respectively. The Nifty recorded day intra-day high and low at 12,147.40 and 12,070.90 points respectively. The losers were Asian Paints by 1.55 pc to Rs 1686.95, HInd Unilever by 1.46 pc to Rs 2055, Tata Steel by 1.42 pc to Rs 425.85 and Maruti Suzuki by 1.25 pc to Rs 7167.40.
The gainers were Yes Bank by 2.28 pc to Rs 71.65, NTPC by 1.30 pc to Rs 117.05, Bharti Airtel by 1.21 pc to Rs 442 and Tata Motors by 0.58 pc to Rs 166.75. UNI
