Mumbai, Nov 8 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday slipped 158.57 points to 40,495.17 on selling in Energy, FMCG, Finance, Telecom, Auto, Materials and Consumer Durable.
Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too dropped by 54.15 points to 11,957.90.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 40,630.56 and 40,452.26 points respectively. The Nifty recorded day intraday high and low at 11,996.55 and 11,948.50 points respectively.
The sectoral indices like Energy, FMCG, Finance, Telecom, Auto and Consumer Durable kept the market under pressure today. The losers were Sun Pharma by 2.79 per cent to Rs 428.15, Hind Unilever by 1.92 per cent to rs 2096.65, ITC by 1.67 per cent to rs 261.45, Tata Steel by 1.66 per cent to Rs 396.45.
The gainers were ICICI Bank by 2.47 per cent to Rs 490.50, Yes Bank by 2.41 per cent to Rs 68.10, IndusInd Bank by 2.40 per cent to Rs 1414 and M & M by 1.83 per cent to Rs 591.05. (UNI)
