Mumbai, Oct 29 : The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday rallied by 237.02 points to 39,487.22 points as fresh buying was seen across the board.
Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too went up by 76.71 points to 11,703.90.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 39,548.81 and 39,254.12 points respectively. The Nifty recorded day intra day high and low at 11,713.40 and 11,627.35 points respectively. The sectoral indices like Materials, FMCG, Finance, Health Care and IT stocks kept the market up in early trade.
The gainers were Tata Motors DVR by 13.29 pc to Rs 75.85, Tata Motors by 12.34 pc to Rs 166.20, Tata Steel by 6.85 pc to Rs 390.10, VEDL by 5.08 pc to Rs 151.35 and Yes Bank by 4.02 pc to Rs 56.95. The losers were Bharti Airtel by 3.30 pc to Rs 360.35, Kotak Bank by 1.08 pc to Rs 1576, HDFC by 0.71 pc to Rs 2090 and Hind Unilever by 0.49 pc to Rs 2129.05. (UNI)
