After touching 39,000, the Benchmark Index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Sensex has gained 150 points to 39205 in the morning hours on Friday.
The benchmark index of the National Stock Exchange, Nifty rose 29 points higher to 11,608 level. The sectoral indeces such as metal and PSU banking witnessed positive trends.
PSU banking stocks marked over 1% rise. Investor sentiment was also upbeat after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman hinted at further stimulus in FY20, they said.
Major gainers were Yes Bank up by 5.91 per cent to Rs.50.20, Coal India up by 2.53 percent to Rs.204 and Larsen and Toubro up by 2.01 percent to Rs.1,453. The major losers were Zee Entertainment down by 7.30 percent to Rs.245.15, Indusind Bank down by 1.58 percent to Rs.1318.95.
