Mumbai, Oct 3 : The Rupee on Thursday jumped by 20 paise to 70.88 against the US Dollar on fresh selling of US Dollar by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market.
The local unit fell by 14 paise to 71.22 in opening trade. Later, it erased earlier losses and advanced by 20 paise to end positive at 70.88 as compared to its last close. The Indian currency bounced back owing to weak Dollar against other world currencies, however sliding negative market capped from further decline, they added.
The local unit recorded day high and low at 71.34 and 70.85 respectively. Yesterday, the market was closed for 'Gandhi Jayanti', they added. (UNI)
