Mumbai, 17 Sep 2017: The Benchmark Index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, has dropped over 670 points on Tuesday.
Investor sentiment remained weak amid geopolitical uncertainties over the Saudi oil turmoil, US-China trade war and looming global economic slowdown. The sectoral indices of banking, energy and IT stocks were dragged amid weak global cues.
The Nifty fell 188.55 points, or 1.71 per cent, to 10,815.20.
Major losers were Hero Moto Corp by 6.20 percent to Rs.2,568 Tata Motors by 5.13 percent to Rs.122 Axis Bank by 4.54 per cent to Rs.640.45 Tata Steel by 4.47 per cent to Rs. 344.95 Maruti Suzuki by 4.40 per cent to Rs.6130.
Gainers were Gail by 1.70 per cent to Rs.131.90, Titan Company by 0.84 per cent to Rs.1, 158, HUL by 0.82 per cent to Rs.1831 Asian Paints by 0.63 per cent to Rs.1530.
