Mumbai, Aug 19 : The Rupee on Monday slid by 28 paise to 71.43 on rising demand for US Dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at Forex Market said.
The domestic unit fell by 3 paise to 71.18 against the greenback in opening trade. Till the end of the day it tumbled down by 28 paise to close negative at 71.43 as compared to its last close.
The domestic unit registered day high and low at 71.47 and 71.05 respectively. The Indian rupee on Monday remained weak because of strong dollar against other world currencies, they added.(UNI)
