The Benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has marked a gain of 92 points at 37483.Though the sensex slipped by 200 points in the early trades, later in the afternoon, market recovered to mitigate most of the losses. The Nifty also moved up 34 points at 11,120. While the top gainers were Hero Motocorp, Yes Bank, Indusind Bank, IOC and Sun Pharma, the top losers were ZEEL, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel and Bharti Infratel.
According to analysts, weak corporate results continued to hamper the indexes in their worst month since September last year.Tech Mahindra Ltd fell as much as 5 per cent after the company's profit missed estimates. Axis Bank was one of loser on the NSE Nifty due to weaker-than-expected earnings. Coffee Day Enterprises touched a fresh low, hitting the lower circuit for the second day with a 20 per cent fall.
