Mumbai, Jul 9 : The BSE Sensex on Tuesday slipped by 122.40 points to 38,598.17 in early trade on profit booking by local operators at higher level amid weak global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) declined by 50.25 points to 11,508.35. The sectoral indices like Consumer Durable, FMCG, Finance and Bankex were in red. The scrips like Asian Paints, TCS, HDFC, Kotak Bank and HCL Technologies slipped in early trade.
The losers were Asian Paints by 2.96 pc to Rs 1300.15, TCS by 2.23 pc to Rs 2127.55, HDFC by 2.19 pc to Rs 2211.55, Kotak Bank by 1.76 pc to Rs 1449.60 and HCL Technologies by 1.22 pc to Rs 1025.80.
The gainers were Sun Pharma by 4.29 pc to Rs 382.85, Reliance Industries by 1.73 pc to Rs 1273.50 and Bajaj Finance by 1.65 pc to Rs 3471.15. (UNI)
