New Delhi, Jul 5: In a bid to make India more investment friendly, the government will invite suggestions for further opening up of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in aviation, media, animation AVGC and insurance sectors.
While presenting her maiden budget in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said, "FDI inflows into India have remained robust despite headwinds. India's FDI inflows in 2018-19 remained strong at 54.37 billion dollars, marking a 6 per cent growth over the previous year."
"Government will invite suggestions for further opening up of FDI in aviation, media, animation AVGC and insurance with all stakeholders," she said. The minister added that 100 per cent FDI will be permitted for insurance intermediaries. UNI
