Mumbai, Jun 3: The Rupee on Monday surged by 31 paise to 69.39 on brisk selling of US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at Forex Market informed.
Dealers said, the local currency rallied ad of the Reserve Bank of India's monetary policy meet. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), which decides on key interest rates, will hold a meeting on June 3, 4 and 6.
High oscillation was seen during the day as it registered day high and low at 69.50 and 69.38, respectively.
The Indian currency rallied because of weak dollar against other world currencies and strong opening in equity market, they added. (UNI)
