Mumbai, May 20: The Rupee on Monday surged by 54 paise to 69.49 against the USD Dollar in early trade after the exit polls showed that once again NDA will come to power amid fresh selling of US Dollars by exporters, dealers at Forex Market said.
The currency jumped as much as 87 paise to 69.36 level in the early trade. It registered intraday high and low 69.65 and 69.35 against US Dollars respectively.
The local unit surged owing to weak dollar against other world currencies, they added. (UNI)
