Mumbai, May 6 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday slid by 286.24 points to 38,677.09 on profit booking by local operators at higher level.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too eased by 97.20 points to 11,615.05. The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 38,719.33 and 38,509.79 points respectively. The Nifty recorded intra-day high and low at 11,629.80 and 11,585.10 points respectively.
The sectoral indices include Materials, FMCG, Health Care, Bankex, Capital Goods and Metal stocks pushed the market up. The losers were Tata Motors by 4.18 pc to Rs 200.35, Tata Motors DVR by 3.93 pc to Rs 96.45, Yes Bank by 3.64 pc to Rs 169.20, HDFC by 2.06 pc to Rs 1986.50 and Hind Unilever by 1.77 pc to Rs 1662.90.
The gainers were TCS by 0.53 pc to Rs 2143.85, Powergrid by 0.50 pc to Rs 191.35, Bharti Airtel by 0.27pc to Rs 332 and ONGC by 0.21 pc to Rs 170.45. (UNI)
