Mumbai, May 4 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock exchange fell by 104.07 points or 0.27 pc in a truncated trading week under review to settle at 38,963.26. NSE Nifty also fell 42.40 points or 0.36 per cent to settle at 11,712.25, after Private sector lender Yes Bank Ltd posted an unexpected loss in the fourth quarter.Market sentiments were dented by weak auto sales numbers for April month. The largest automaker, Maruti registered 19 per cent YoY drop in sales for April. M&M, Tata also followed the trend to show a drop of 9 per cent and 27 per cent in their respective sales figure.
The BSE Mid-Cap index fell 280.64 points or 1.86 pc to settle at 14,783.35. The BSE Small-Cap index fell 265.23 points or 1.79 pc to settle at 14,548.15.
