New Delhi, Mar 28 : Petrol on Thursday gets slashed by 4 to 5 paise per litre while diesel reduces in the range of 10 to 11 p/l. In national capital, petrol is retailing at Rs 72.81 as against of Rs 72.86 on Wednesday while diesel costs 66.39 p/l against yesterday's price of Rs 66.49 p/ litre.
In Mumbai, petrol is being sold for Rs 78.43 p/l as against of Rs 78.48 p/litre yesterday. Diesel costs Rs 69.54 a litre. According to Indian Oil Corporation website, petrol and diesel cost Rs 74.89 and 68.18 per litre in Kolkata.
Similarly, in Chennai petrol is retailing at Rs 75.62 p/ litre and diesel Rs 70.15 a litre. In Noida, petrol is retailing at Rs 72.74 per litre and diesel costs Rs 65.61 a litre.
In Gurgaon, petrol is being sold for Rs 72.20 a litre and diesel Rs 65. 51 per litre. As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.
The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier it used to be revised every fortnight. (UNI)
