New Delhi, Feb 28 :India’s gross domestic product (GDP) declined to 6.6 per cent in the third quarter of the current financial year 2018-19, the Government announced on Thursday.
With the slowing down of the GDP rate in the third quarter, the overall GDP growth in 2018-19 is now revised at 7.0 per cent as compared to the growth rate of 7.2 per cent in 2017-18.
The growth rate in first quarter of this financial year was calculated at 8 percent while in the second quarter it was 7.0 per cent. In the third quarter of October to December, the GDP lowered to 6.6 per cent, according to the data released by the Central Statistics Office here.
The CSO has released the Second Advance Estimates of GDP in accordance with the release calendar of National Accounts.
