Mumbai, Feb 26 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday tumbled down by 289.50 points to 35,923.88 amid reports of geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan.
Negative asinan market also dampened the sentiments of the investors. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too declined by 75.75 points to 10,804.35.
The sensex registered intraday high and low at 36,054 and 35,714.16 respectively. The Nifty recorded intraday high and low at 10,837 and 10,729.30 points respectively. The sectoral indices like Materials, Energy, Realty, Bankex dragged the market.
The losers were NTPC by 2.14 pc to Rs 137.45, ICICI Bank by 1.81 pc to Rs 349.05, HDFC by 1.71 pc to Rs 1862.40 and SBI by 1,57 pc to Rs 265.95.
The gainers were Tata Motors by 2.56 pc to Rs 180.05, TCS by 1.24 pc to Rs 2009.70, Tata Motors DVR by 0.95 pc to Rs 90.50 and Coal India by 0.47 pc to Rs 215.45. (UNI)
