Mumbai, Feb 21: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday rallied by 81 points to open at 35,837 as renewed buying was seen in Materials, Finance, Energy and Realty stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 9 points to 10,744.10. The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 35,851.41 and 35,707.29 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra-day high and low at 10,756.45 and 10,721.56 points respectively. The gainers were VEDL by 2.19 pc to Rs 165.65, ICICI Bank by 2.03 pc to Rs 352.20, Reliance Industries by 1.08 pc to Rs 1247.65, ONGC by 1.01 pc to Rs 145.50 and Sun Pharma by 0.95 pc to Rs 426.20.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 1.50 pc to Rs 304.90, Maruti Suzuki by 1.44 pc to Rs 6750, Infosys by 1.26 pc to Rs 730.75 and Yes Bank by 1.15 pc to Rs 215.40.UNI
