Mumbai, Jan 9: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday rose by 142.67 points to trade at 36,123.60 as fresh buying was seen in FMCG, Health care, IT, Bnaxex consumer durables and auto stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 30.25 points to 10,832.40. The sensex registered intra day high and low at 36,250.54 and 36,120.34 respectively.The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,870.40 and 10,831.70 points respectively.
The gainers were Axis Bank by 1.78 pc to Rs 662.50, Tata Motors by 1.28 pcto Rs 181.65, Infosys by 1.25 pc to Rs 678.25, Maruti by 1.01 pc to Rs 7496.00 and HIndunilvr by 0.90 pc to Rs 1780.00.
The losers were Tata Steel by 2.56 pc to Rs 478.75, Heromotoco by 0.83 pc to Rs 2950.00, VEDL by 0.77 pc to REs 194.20, ONGC by 0.71 pc to Rs 146.35 and SBIN by 0.61 pc to Rs 303.25.
