Mumbai, Jan 8: The Rupee on Tuesday slipped by 36 paise to 70.04 against the USD in early trade on rising demand for American currency by bankers and importers, amid falling crude oil prices, dealers at Forex Market said.
The Rupee opened weak at 69.83 at the interbank forex market against its previous close of 69.68 a dollar.
The local unit recorded intra day high and low at 70.06 and 69.83 respectively.
Forex dealers said early losses in domestic stock markets weighed on the Rupee, but a weak dollar in overseas markets capped the fall. (UNI)
