Mumbai, Dec 6: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday dropped by 382.20 points to 35,502.21 as heavy selling was witnessed in metal and oil stocks ahead of the Opec meeting to discuss production policy. Even, weak Asian cues also dampened the sentiments of the investors.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too eased by 134.20 points to 10,648.70. The sensex registered intra day high and low at 35,707.23 and 35,468.12 points. The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,722.65 and 10,641.60.
The sectoral indices like Materials, Industrials, Telecom, Bankex, FMCG and Health Care stocks dragged the market in early trade.
The losers were Maruti Suzuki by 4.23 pc to Rs 7240, ONGC by 2.47 pc to Rs 140.15, Kotak Bank by 2.01 pc to Rs 1187, Asian Paints by 1.98 pc to Rs 1302.05 and IndusInd Bank by 1.83 pc to Rs 1574.10.
The gainers were Sun Pharma by 1.55 pc to Rs 420, NTPC by 0.57 pc to Rs 141.70 and Powergrid by 0.44 pc to Rs 184.20. (UNI)
