Mumbai, Aug 30: The Rupee on Thursday eased by three paise to 70.62, a new record low in early trade on rising demand for US Dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said. The rupee on Thursday extended losses for the fourth consecutive session.
The rupee, the worst Asian currency this year, has depreciated over 9%. The dollar strength against its rival currencies overseas too put pressure on the rupee, Forex dealers said.
A major fluctuation was seen during an intraday trade as it registered day high and low at 70.82 and 70.59 respectively, they added. (UNI)
