New Delhi, Jun 9 : Amidst the rising contagion targets in the national capital, one more police officer lost the battle to the virus and succumbed to the disease on Tuesday morning. According to the police, Sub Inspector Karambeer died at the Army Hospital where he was being treated for the infection. SI Karamveer, age 59, was posted with the ACP Seelampur, North East district and was a diabetic.
He was on ventilator support for the past five days fighting ailments related to COVID 19. SI Karamveer was tested positive for the virus on June 2, and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. The force has condoled the demise of their fellow personnel, and in the message expressed that the COVID warrior sacrificed his life in the fight against the pandemic.
The force stands with the family of the deceased. He is survived by his wife, daughter and son who is working with the railways. This is the fifth COVID casualty in the force, as earlier the department has lost two constables, two ASIs to the contagion. (UNI)
