New Delhi, Jun 4 : National capital's contagion tally crossed 25,000-mark on Thursday after again witnessing a sharp surge of 1,359 cases during the past 24 hours. Delhi now houses 25,004 confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus as day four of the unlock 1 came to an end, while cases have been witnessing sharp spikes since the city walked into the lockdown 5.0.
Fatalities due to the pandemic in the city have now touched 650, after 22 more persons reportedly died since Wednesday. Active cases in the city under medical supervision at present stand at 14,456, while 307 ICUbeds/ventilators are occupied in the city out of the 420 available,as per the state's health bulletin. On a positive note, on the recoveries front , the capital has witnessed some improvement with 356 persons coming out cured in the past 24 hours, taking the cured and discharged count to 9,898 so far. A total of 3306 patients are admitted to the dedicated COVID hospitals here, the government data said. Containment zones in the city have again increased on Thursday, with four more areas added to the list with total such zones now 152 across the national capital.
Cumulative tests for the pandemic done till date are 2,36,506. After the government announced further opening of markets and salons and other services barring a few , people will have to be more careful with the social distancing and self saving measures, as already numbers have spiked at a rapid rate.
