New Delhi, May 27 : With the highest ever spike of 792 infections in a single day, the National Capital's COVID-19 tally jumped past the 15 k mark on Wednesday to land at 15257. According to the state government, the pandemic fatalities in the National Capital also crossed 300 taking the count to 303 till date.
As per the health bulletin, the city at present houses 7690 cases under active medical supervision. A total of 191 patients are admitted to the ICUs in dedicated COVID hospitals with 32 on the ventilator support. Meanwhile, there is an improvement on the recovery front, with 310 patients defeating the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the cured and discharged cases figure to 7264 till date. A total of 3878 patients are under home isolation in the city as per the guidelines.
So far, 184362 cumulative COVID tests have been conducted here , the government bulletin said. Number of containment zones have increased in the city from 91 on Tuesday to 96 as of now after five such places were sealed by the authorities in view of the infection status of the area. Till Sunday, while the toll stood at 261, the total number of positive cases were 13418. The number of cases that are symptomatic and admitted to the dedicated COVID hospitals at present are 2118.
