New Delhi, May 8: A total of 448 fresh novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases have surfaced in Delhi in the past 24 hours, which is the highest single-day spike so far in positive cases, taking the total number of such cases in the National Capital to 5980, Office of the Chief Minister said here on Thursday night. Active cases of COVID-19 at present stand at 3,983, while 1,931 have recovered so far, as per information posted on twitter by the Delhi Government.
So far, 66 people in Delhi have lost their lives due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, the government on Thursday also de-contained four more places, reducing the number to 83 across the city. These areas include, Balaji Apartment, Sant Nagar Burari, Shastri Market, including JJ Cluster of South Moti Bagh and E Block, Abu Fazal Enclave. (UNI)
