New Delhi, May 3: The headquarters of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was sealed on Sunday after a staff of one of the top officers of the CRPF tested COVID-19 positive.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Directorate General (DG) has ordered that the CRPF Headquarters in Delhi will remain closed till May 5 morning. ''During this time, no one will be allowed to enter the headquarters. All officers and men working in the Directorate General, CRPF are requested to not come to office and work from home till then,'' according to the order of the Directorate General, CRPF.
Those responsible for collection, collation and dissemination of urgent communication may continue to do so by safe and secure means, it said. Significantly, 135 personnel of a battalion deployed in CRPF's East Delhi have been found corona positive so far. All these jawans are members of 31st battalion of paramilitary force located in Mayur Vihar Phase-3 of East Delhi. Due to the large number of patients suffering from this infection in the last few days, the entire campus has been sealed.
Samples of 480 personnel were taken from this unit for testing, results have come for 458 while for rest 22 were awaited. A mobile test lab has been set up in the battalion complex to ensure rapid collection of samples. Also, the entire campus has been sanitised. (UNI)
