New Delhi, Jan 20: Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s roadshow before filing his nomination papers from New Delhi Assembly constituency has begun on Monday.
According to the Aam Admi plan, the massive roadshow will culminate into the filing of nomination paper in the afternoon for the February 8 Delhi Assembly polls. The Delhi Chief Minister's roadshow began from Valmiki Mandir on Mandir Marg and it will end near the Patel Chowk metro station.
'Today @ArvindKejriwal will file his nomination from New Delhi Assembly constituency. We invite everyone to #WalkWithAK and be a part of the road show,' the party said in a tweet. 'AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will begin his road show after seeking the blessings of Bhagwan Valmiki at the historic Valmiki Mandir,' an official from the party said.
'The roadshow will go to Connaught Place via Panchkuian Marg into the Inner Circle and then towards the Outer Circle on to Baba Kharak Singh Marg. It will end near the Patel Chowk Metro station,' the official added. Both the Congress and BJP have not announced the name of the candidates for the New Delhi seat from where Mr Kejriwal was contesting the poll. The process of nomination for the candidates which started after issuance of notification on January 14 will close on January 21. The scrutiny will be held on January 22 while withdrawals of candidature will be allowed till January 24. On January 14, the AAP declared its candidates from all 70 assembly seats. The results of the Delhi Assembly polls will be declared on February 11. (UNI)
