New Delhi, Jan 14 : Bihar-based Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Tuesday announced a list of 15 candidates for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.
The party has announced that it will go solo in the national capital and said that the alliance with the BJP is confined to Bihar only. It also said that its up to the BJP to decide on a pre-poll alliance in Delhi. The election for the 70-seat Delhi assembly is scheduled to take place on February 8 while counting will be done on February 11.
LJP leader Kali Pandey, who is LJP'S in-charge for the Delhi polls, said, “It is for the bigger partner in the alliance to take a call about any tie-up. We have seen what happened in Jharkhand.” The BJP in Jharkhand contested alone after it failed to enter into any pre-poll arrangement with the Sudesh Mahto-led AJSU. LJP’s Delhi unit president Vinod Nagar said "the party will fight the polls in the city with all its might". (UNI)
