New Delhi, Nov 8: Sounding the poll bugle here, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the BJP government will complete the work of giving ownership rights to 40 lakh people living in unauthorised colonies in Delhi with utmost responsibility.

A policy has been made for this with the aim of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', in all the colonies, he said, adding that people of all religions will benefit from the government move.

"Iss dharam ke log hain toh unko toh fayda milega, uss dharam wale ko nahi milega. BJP ko vote milte hain, uss colony mein toh laabh milega, this won't happen,' he stressed while addressing RWA office bearers and members of unauthorised colonies.

Mr Modi said the BJP government is crossing new heights of development adding that 'Such seeds are also being sown that when your children grow up, they will benefit from the schemes'.

He said 'You've lived a very challenging life. You were born in colonies that were unauthorised, and your dreams had to face that challenge at every step.

'You were expected to be freed from this problem from several governments, but it never got solved. This is like a second Diwali for the residents of Delhi.'

The government has made a plan by putting in Rs 25 thousand crore so that after completion of work, 4.5 lakh people will be handed over the houses.

Attacking the earlier Congress-led UPA government, Modi hailed his government's moves to criminalise Triple Talaq and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. (UNI)
