Sheila Dikshit meets LG over deteriorating law and order

New Delhi, Jun 27: A delegation led by Delhi Congress president Sheila Dikshit on Thursday met Lieutenant Governor Delhi Anil Baijal and sought his immediate intervention to check the deteriorating law and order situation in the National Capital with upsurge in heinous crime in the last few weeks.

The DPPC delegation requested the LG to take prompt action to make the place safer and submitted a memorandum detailing the heinous crimes committed in the Capital in the recent weeks, including over a dozen murders and many instances of shootings, snatching and robberies raising concerns over safety.After the meeting with LG , DPCC president told mediapersons that he carefully listened to her point of view on the law and order situation, and asked for suggestions on how to improve law and order in the Capital.

She said that Mr Baijal has taken serious note of the worsening law and order situation in the National Capital, as he himself was very concerned about it.The LG has promised that he would address the situation quickly and the face of Delhi would be changed for the better, with the help and support of all concerned, she said.Besides Ms Dikshit, others in the delegation included Working Presidents Haroon Yusuf and Rajesh Lilothia, former Delhi Ministers Dr AKWalia, Mangat Ram Singhal, Ramakant Goswami, Narendra Nath, Kiran Walia, spokesperson Jitender Kumar Kochar and Prahlad Singh Sahni.
