Fire breaks out; Delhi Metro services disrupted

New Delhi, June 21: Delhi Metro services on Magenta Line was affected after a major fire broke out at the furniture market near Kalindi Kunj metro station early on Friday morning.

According to the fire department, 17 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was reported around 5. 55 am. There were no reports of casualties in the incident, the Fire Department said.

The fire tenders are trying to bring the blaze under control. 'Train movement has been stopped temporarily between Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh and Kalindi Kunj due to smoke and fire underneath the section. We regret the inconvenience,' the
DMRC said in a statement.

'Short loops are being run between Janakpuri West and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh. No service between Kalindi Kunj and Botanical Garden temporarily. The firefighters are still attending the fire near Kalindi Kunj. Passengers at Botanical Garden, please use the blue line to continue with your journey,' the statement added.(UNI)
