New Delhi, Jun 7 : Taking cognisance of the gruesome killing of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, the National Child Rights Protection (NCPR) on Friday asked the state police to provide information about the case.
The mutilated body of the toddler, who went missing on May 30, was recovered just 100 metres from her house on June 2 wrapped in cloth. The father has alleged that the killing was in reprisal for a loan of Rs 5,000 he had taken and not repaid.
Commission chairperson Priyank Kanoongo, spoke to the Police Superintendent of Aligarh on Friday and directed that necessary guidelines be issued for fair investigation of the case.
The Aligarh Superintendent of Police told the Commission that the police has registered the case and arrested two persons.
The Commission has asked the police to complete the investigation and make the report available to it.
