New Delhi, Jun 7: Two miscreants carrying rewards were nabbed by the Delhi Police Special Cell in the early hours of Friday morning following brief exchange of fire , the police said here.
The duo was identified as 24-year-old Salman alias Munna and 23-year-old Nazim, both brothers , hailing from Seelampur in Delhi.
They were intercepted in a village near Burari Delhi, and on being challenged opened fire on the police team.
The gangsters fired around eight rounds while in retaliation police fired about six rounds in which Salman received a bullet injury in one of his legs and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
During the exchange of fire one of the police personnel , Head Constable Anil Chadha received bullets on his bullet proof jacket.
After the brothers were overpowered by the police team, two semi-automatic .32 pistols along with five live rounds of ammunition were recovered from them and a motorbike was also seized.
The duo has previous involvements in gang wars in the North East District of the capital.
Salman was carrying an award of Rs 1 lakh on his head and Nazim Rs 50000.
