Govt offices near Rashtrapati Bhawan to be closed early on Thursday

New Delhi, May 29 : In view of the swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi as newly elected Prime Minister on Thursday, the government offices located in the vicinity of the Rashtrapati Bhawan would be closed early at 1400 hrs.

'In connection with arrangements for the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minister on May 30, it has been decided that the Government offices located in the North Block, South Block, Rail Bhawan, Vayu Bhawan, Sena Bhawan, DRDO and Hutments would be closed early at 1400 hours on May 30,' an official statement said on Wednesday.

Mr Modi, who won a second straight term in office following a massive victory in the Lok Sabha elections, and his Council of Ministers will take oath on Thursday at 1900 hrs at a ceremony in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan.President Ram Nath Kovind will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the Prime minister and his cabinet colleagues.
