New Delhi, May 29 : Elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been made for the swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi as newly elected Prime Minister along with his Council of Minister on Thursday.
Mr Modi, who won a second consecutive term in office following a massive victory in the Lok Sabha elections, and his Council of Ministers will take oath at 1900 hrs at a ceremony in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan.
A number of Heads of States, Heads of Governments, Constitutional Authorities, Diplomats, senior political leaders, Government officials, media persons, are scheduled to attend the ceremony. Elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the function.
Traffic Police in its advisory issued on Wednesday said the roads (Rajpath (from Vijay chowk to Rashtrapati Bhawan), Vijay chowk and adjoining areas including North and South fountain, South Avenue, North Avenue, Dara-Shikoh Road and Church Road) in New Delhi District will be closed for movement of general public between 1600 hrs to 2100 hrs on May 30.
In addition, necessary traffic diversions will be enforced on Akbar Road, Rajpath, Teen Murti Marg, Krishna Menon Marg, Pandit Pant Marg, Talkatora Road, Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Road, Tyagaraj Marg, SP Marg, Kushak Road, K Kamaraj Marg, Rajaji Marg, Shanti Path, Raisina Road and Moti Lal Nehru Marg which are expected to face congestion due to the ceremony.
Traffic police has advised motorists and general public to avoid these roads between 1600 hrs and 2100 hrs on May 30, and plan their journey accordingly.Traffic signages have been provided for the information of invitees and general public. All motorists are advised to follow the directions of the traffic police on duty.
