New Delhi, May 7: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday nabbed a passenger with nine gold bars concealed in the body cavity, worth Rs 47 lakh at Dibrugarh airport.
At around 1345 hrs during pre-embarkation security check (frisking) at Dibrugarh Airport, a CISF personnel noticed presence of metal in body cavity (rectum) of a passenger. He was taken to the separate place for thorough checking. On questioning, he revealed that he was carrying gold bars inside his rectum.
''The passenger was identified as Chaman Lal Mehta, who was to travel from Dibrugarh to Delhi by a scheduled flight. Nine gold bars weighing about 1500 gm, were recovered from his body cavity,'' a CISF Spokesperson said. Senior CSF officers and Custom officials of Dibrugarh Airport were informed.
Later, the accused, along with the recovered gold bars worth around Rs 47 lakh, was handed over to the Customs Officials, for further legal action in the matter, he added. (UNI)
