New Delhi, Apr 15 : The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday sent a complaint to the Election Commission, asking the CEC for an inquiry into the matter, wherein voter cards were unlawfully discarded. The ruling party has accused the BJP and booth level workers of the EC over 200 undelivered voter ID cards that were retrieved from a garbage in Badarpur. Speaking to reporters here, AAP candidate from South Delhi LS constituency Raghav Chadha said here that the discovery of voter IDs from a garbage dump was shocking and accused the BJP and the booth level EC workers and the postal department workers of having a nexus, in view of compromising the democratic rights of the people.
Mr Chadha further said that despite around five Voter Registration Camps being organised in Badarpur area, South Delhi, wherein thousands of people visited and successfully registered themselves, the cards still did not reach them. Thousands of people visited the camps. Even though the registration was successful and the voter ID cards were ready, these cards didn't get deliver. ''My complaint to CEC on hundreds of voter ID cards found dumped on streets of Badarpur, South Delhi Lok Sabha Constituency,'' Mr Chadha added. (UNI)
