Agency News

New Delhi/Dehradun, Feb 25: A senior official in the Department of Telecommunications has written to the Delhi police commissioner Amulya Patnaik urging him to take action against rebel AAP MLA Kapil Mishra for allegedly circulating a video provoking people to start violence against some individuals including celebrities and politicians.

In his letter, DoT Controller Communications, Dehradun, Ashish Joshi alleged that Mr Mishra, a former Delhi Minister, has uploaded a video on YouTube provoking people to attack certain citizens. "The content of the video is self explanatory and violates Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act," he wrote describing the video as "highly incendiary one".

He also mentioned the youtube link in the letter. "The inflammatory and incendiary video circulated by one Mr Kapil Mishra has been brought to the notice of Patnaik Sir, Commissioner of Police, Delhi," the complainant Mr Joshi tweeted.

In the video message, Mishra attacked some prominent citizens including politicians and celebrities and says the "traitors should be dragged out of their homes onto the streets".

"This video on Twitter and YouTube by a Delhi MLA calls for mobs to drag several individuals - including me - out of our homes and lynch us," tweeted Kavita Krishnan, a polit bureau member of CPI(ML).

Kapil Mishra was sacked as Water Resource Minister in the AAP government and at a later stage he also lodged corruption charges against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and another party leader Satyendra Jain with anti corruption bureau, media reports said. (UNI)
