DCW chief to do ‘padyatra’ from Feb 24 to Mar 8 for women safety

New Delhi, Feb 20: Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Wednesday said she will undertake a 13-day padyatra in the national capital from February 24 to March 8 on women safety, and will launch Mahila Suraksha Dal during the foot march.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Ms Maliwal said, 'We are undertaking a 13-day women safety foot march in Delhi from February 24 to March 8. We will march on road and meet people throughout the day. Mahila Suraksha Dal will be launched during the padyatra and people will be invited to become volunteer for Mahila Suraksha Mitr'.

The DCW Chief will remain on the streets of Delhi and spend nights in jhuggi.

She will meet people, receive complaints and initiate on spot action. (UNI)
