New Delhi, Jan 18: Two drug traffickers including a Nigerian national were nabbed by the Delhi Police Special Cell along with 6 kg of heroin, the police said on Friday.
The two were held on Thursday night with heroin worth approximately Rs 24 crore in the international market. The duo were identified as Pannalal alias Vinod and Nigerian national Ema.
They were nabbed near district park Paschim Vihar in West Delhi at around 2100 hours on Thursday. The police had earlier received an information that Pannalal has collected a big consignment of heroin from Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh and he would deliver the same to his Nigerian counterpart near District Park, Paschim Vihar.
Accordingly, a trap was laid down near District Park, Paschim. During questioning the accused persons disclosed that they are members of an International narcotic cartel and further told police that the recovered consignment of heroin was procured by them from a notorious drug supplier of Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh.
Pannalal indulged in this illegal trade of drug trafficking since 15 years. He used to source heroin from drug suppliers of Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh and further supplied the contraband to Nigerian nationals in Delhi.
The cartel is also involved in supplying drugs in Delhi and neghboring states of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
Both have been booked under appropriate sections of law and further probe was underway to find out linkages. (UNI)
