CISF nabs 2 with foreign currency worth Rs 30 lakh at IGI Airport

New Delhi, Dec 4: The Central Industrial Security Force on Tuesday nabbed two passengers carrying a huge amount of foreign currencies worth Rs 30 lakh at Indira Gandhi International Airport here.

According to CISF, around 0200 hrs on December 4, during pre-embarkation security check at Security Hold Area of Terminal -3 of IGI airport, a CISF personnel detected 39284 USD, Thai Baht-118300, HKG Dollar-1220, Dirham 25 worth approximately Rs 30 lakh and 15 old I Phones from the hand baggages of two passengers namely Paramjeet Singh and Daljeet Singh, both Indians, bound for Bangkok by Thai Airways flight and onward bound for Guangzhou, China.

During enquiry, they could not produce any valid document for the presence of such huge foreign currencies with them.

“The passengers along with detected foreign currency worth around Rs 30 lakh were handed over to Custom officials for further action”, the CISF said. (UNI)
