Quarrel over fare: Auto rickshaw driver stabbed to death

New Delhi, Oct 8: An auto rickshaw driver was allegedly stabbed to death on Sunday night by four passengers over a heated argument regarding fare, police said on Monday.

The deceased identified as Jahangir Alam (26), a resident of Jamia area, was spotted near a restaurant at Kasturba Gandhi Marg here, lying in a pool of blood, police said.

The auto rickshaw driver was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he succumbed during the treatment. Later, a call was received by the police regarding a person being held by the public near Balwant Rai Mehta lane, who was among those who had allegedly stabbed the auto rickshaw driver.

A button actuated blood stained knife was also recovered from his possession by the public, they said. (UNI)
