BJP MLA accuses AAP Ministers of making `irrelevant’ statements to malign Centre

New Delhi, Aug 11 BJP MLA Vijender Gupta on Saturday accused the ruling AAP government Ministers and MLAs of making ``irrelevant and mis-guiding” statements in the Assembly to malign the Centre, Lieutenant Governor and his party.

“The Ministers and AAP MLAs made irrelevant and mis-guiding statements in the House just to malign the Centre, LG, BJP and officials,' he said in a statement issued here on Saturday.

``The seriousness of the Government can be judged from the fact that the Chief Minister showed his face in the House for just 15-20 minutes during the five day-session,” said Mr Gupta, who is also the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.

Attacking the Kejriwal government, Mr Gupta said it had spent its entire energy on ensuring that the Opposition was crushed.

Whenever BJP MLAs tried to raise public interest issues such as Bangladeshi infiltrators and the humiliation of an officer, the Government ensured that the voice of Opposition was stifled, he said.

“The Government wasted two days on a short duration discussion on the Supreme Court judgment on the powers of the Delhi Government despite the matter being sub judice. It amounts to contempt of court. Why to spend public money on such matters?,” he asked.

Mr Gupta said Mr Kejriwal owed apology to the public for wasting government funds.

The five-day monsoon session concluded on Friday.

On the last day of the session, the AAP government passed a resolution demanding removal of Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. (UNI)
