Eminent writer Anand Prakash Dixit was awarded the Bharat Bharti Award, the highest literary award given by the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday.
The 94-year-old litterateur was conferred the award by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence. The award comes with a citation and Rs 5 lakh in cash.
Dixit was awarded by UP government for his research paper published in 1960 'Ras Sidhhant'. Central Literacy academy had honoured him with Bhasha Samman last year.
Meanwhile, the 'Lohiya Sahitya Samman' was given to Anand Mishra 'Abhay' and 'Hindi Gaurav Samman' to Dr Vidya Bindu Singh. 'Mahatma Gandhi Sahitya Samman' was given to Nand Kishore Acharya, 'Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Sahitya Samman' was given to Mahesh Chandra Sharmaand 'Avantibai Sahitya Samman' was given o Professor Netrapal Singh.
