Active COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh stand at 834

Raipur, Jun 8 : The number of active COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases in Chhattisgarh rose to 834 on Monday after 31 more people in the state tested positive for the virus.

According to information gathered from the state's health department, these 31 new cases included 7 in Baloda-Bazar, 5 each in Kanker, Raipur and Koriya, 3 each in Korba and Bemetara, 2 in Janjgir and 1 in Bilaspur. Process of admitting them to hospitals is currently underway.

In Chhattisgarh, a total of 88,896 suspected COVID-19 patients had been identified till Sunday evening and their samples were sent to labs for testing. Of these 84,344 people tested negative while the results of 3,481 samples are still awaited. With these new cases coming to light, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state increased to 1,104. While at the same time 266 people have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from the virus. So far four people have died in the state due to the COVID-19 infection. (UNI)
