Bilaspur, Mar 2 : President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday said it had become absolutely necessary to incorporate moral values in education. Addressing the convocation ceremony of Guru Ghasidas Central University here, the President said the objective of education should not be confined to mere obtaining degrees; rather, the aim of attaining education should be to become a good person.

A good person can become a good doctor and engineer, he said, adding that a good person gives his best in social life too. He said it was the duty of the Universities to instill in the students, the values of honesty, discipline, tolerance, and respect for law and time management.

Today, India is being recognised as a modern and enterprising nation in the world, he said, adding that because of the energy of the youth, 'We have been able to create the second largest start-up eco-system in the world and modern technology today and get unprecedented achievements in the fields from modern technology to space science.' Remembering Guru Ghasidas, he said Guru ji spread a message to live in the society with the spirit of harmony and brotherhood and follow the path of truth.(UNI)
