Meeting of Central Zonal Council of four states begins under Shah's chairmanship

Raipur, Jan 28: The 22nd meeting of Central Zonal Council of four states, including Chhattisgarh, got under way here on Tuesday. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, along with Chief Secretaries and senior departmental officers of these states are attending the meeting, which began at a private hotel in Nava Raipuram under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The council has been set up as a high level advisory forum, with the objective of solving inter-state problems and ensuring balanced socio-economic development in member states in coordination with the Central Government. This time it was the turn of Chhattisgarh to host the meeting. Issues pertaining to law and order, Naxalism and terrorism will prominently be discussed at the meeting. Member states will present reports on topics related to the meeting, besides raising their difficulties and demands before the Home Minister.

The DGs of central forces particularly Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are also present at the meeting. (UNI)
